Prince George’s potential next school headteacher sends warning
Prince George’s Future School Plans – Eton or Highgate?
Prince George, who turns 12 in July, is expected to one day become king. For now, he’s focused on school and enjoying his childhood. He currently attends Lambrook School and has one year left before moving on. While George was seen visiting Eton College with his parents in 2023—a school both Prince William and Prince Harry attended—Kate Middleton reportedly has concerns.
Kate, who had a negative experience at boarding school, is said to be “heartbroken” at the idea of George attending Eton, even though she agreed due to George wanting to follow in his father’s footsteps. Eton costs around £46,000 a year, and while it’s just five minutes from their Windsor home, Kate worries about missing him and questions whether such a traditional school fits their goal of modernizing the monarchy.
However, the plans may be changing. After Christmas, Kate was seen touring Highgate School in London, sparking rumors George might attend there instead. Highgate is a prestigious day school with annual fees around £32,640. Kate showed interest in the drama department during her visit.
Recently, Highgate’s headmaster, Adam Pettitt, spoke out about limiting screen time, encouraging more quality, screen-free time with families. The school already bans mobile phones, which he says has improved student interaction.
The final decision on Prince George’s next school is still unknown, but it will reveal much about William and Kate’s parenting style and values.
