Beloved ’60s heartthrob Bobby Sherman diagnosed with stage 4 cancer

Bobby Sherman, the beloved 1960s teen idol known for hits like “Little Woman” and TV appearances on Shindig! and The Partridge Family, has been diagnosed with stage 4 kidney cancer at age 81. The news was shared by his wife, Brigitte Poublon, in March 2025, who later revealed that the cancer has spread throughout his body.

Once adored by millions, Sherman is now at home receiving special care. His condition has rapidly worsened, with Brigitte saying his body is “shutting down.” His final wish from the hospital was simply: “Brig, I just want to go home.”

Despite his fame, Sherman lived a life of service, working as a paramedic and reserve LAPD officer. Alongside Brigitte, he co-founded the Brigitte and Bobby Sherman Children’s Foundation, supporting children in Ghana with meals, education, and music.

Fans and friends, including actor John Stamos, have shown overwhelming support. Though unable to visit, Stamos sent a heartfelt video message.

Brigitte, who married Bobby in 2010, was once a fan herself. Now, she stands by his side, honoring both the idol and the man behind the fame. Bobby may no longer be in the spotlight, but his legacy of love, music, and service lives on.
